Some may wonder, why I would write a book about porn with
sexual content in it.
Well, in the
beginning when I first wrote, Portrait of Our Marriage, there were no sexually
explicit scenes written in the book. But I began to notice that when readers in
my writing group read the book they came to a conclusion that far too many
people even in real life come to. They began to believe that Brett, the main
male character or husband, in the book was not getting any and that something
must be sexually wrong with Nicky, the female main character or wife. This was not the case in the story I wrote
and does not seem to be an accurate reason in real life either. Men turn to
porn for many personal reasons. I am
hoping someday this “always blaming” the woman or wife will cease.
Anyway, although some may find it ironic that I’ve written a
book about porn that has sexual content in it, the sex is there for a reason,
to be true to the story. I sincerely tried to make this book as real as I
possibly could, based on years of reading information online and input from
eight women’s lives. These woman all felt they had good healthy, sexual
relationships with their spouses, until their husbands use of porn increased to
everyday use. At this point they felt their husbands addiction changed both
their personal and sexual relationships.
Portrait of Our Marriage is not a lecture, it is a fictional
memoir told in a story. If you are looking for a fairy tale romance, my book is
not for you. There is romance in the book. This is a story about love. There is
also passion and sex. There are funny and thought provoking parts that will take
you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and twist you up. Some love stories are
about truth, reality, and heartache. I
hope you will give my first book a chance and read it.
